ActivePure®
Technology and Sustainability

ActivePure® Technology contributes to sustainability by reducing energy consumption in building operations and by providing an environmentally conscious solution for air and surface purification. The technology, recognized as a Certified Space Technology, aligns with various environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

ActivePure®’s alignment with sustainability objectives is primarily achieved through its energy efficiency and its role in creating healthier indoor environments without a significant carbon footprint.

Energy Efficiency and HVAC Optimization: ActivePure® systems allow building operators to improve air quality without solely relying on high-MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) filters or extensive outdoor air ventilation, which can strain HVAC systems and increase energy costs. By actively neutralizing contaminants, the technology provides flexibility to optimize ventilation and filtration strategies, leading to significant energy savings and reduced indirect CO2 emissions.

Low Carbon Footprint: Most ActivePure® devices are designed to be energy-efficient, using about as much electricity as a lightbulb. The technology’s low power consumption contributes to a reduced operational carbon footprint for residential and commercial buildings.

ESG Integration and Certification: ActivePure® actively partners with organizations like the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) to help clients in the real estate sector meet their ESG criteria. This positions the technology as a key tool for asset managers and owners aiming for sustained improvement in building performance and alignment with global climate standards, such as achieving Net Zero by 2050 goals.

Health and Wellness as a Social Factor: By effectively reducing up to 99.9% of various airborne and surface pathogens (viruses, bacteria, molds), ActivePure enhances the health and well-being of occupants in spaces such as hospitals, schools, and offices. This focus on social wellness is a critical component of overall ESG performance and sustainable development, providing a safer working and living environment.

Ozone-Free Operation: Unlike some older air cleaning technologies that can produce ozone or harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ActivePure® has been independently tested and certified as ozone-free (UL 2998 validation). This safety feature ensures that the technology does not negatively impact outdoor air quality or create harmful indoor byproducts, aligning with environmental health and safety standards.

In essence, ActivePure® technology offers a sustainable approach to indoor air quality by providing a powerful, energy-efficient, and active solution that works with, rather than against, a building’s existing infrastructure and broader environmental goals.
